Kent General's Emergency Department (ED) is designated as a Level III Trauma Center, meaning it has a 24-hour Trauma Team and Emergency Room. Staffed by physicians board-certified in emergency medicine, Kent's ED serves 48,000 patients per year. It has 21 beds, 4 bed fast track; a 4 bed trauma/resuscitation bay and 9 other monitored beds.

Visitor Policy
Since the ED treatment area gets crowded often, we have a visitor policy:
- Usually, you will be allowed one visitor
- The visitor may be asked to leave during the doctor's examination
- If the patient is a child, an adult is expected to remain with the child at all times.
- Children, other than those being seen by the doctor, are not allowed in the treatment area.
- Please respect the privacy of our other patients.
