About

Muhammad Hanafi, MD, is a gastroenterologist, also called a GI doctor, who specializes in the health of the digestive system.

Becoming a GI specialist was a natural fit for him because it combines his intellectual interests in studying internal illnesses and his knack for performing procedures. Staying up to date on the latest innovations and research in his field, he has an enthusiasm for sharing his knowledge and helping his patients better understand what’s going on inside their bodies and how their conditions can be best treated or managed.

Knowing that he can provide a listening ear, sound medical advice and reassurance to help people during times of stress when they are hurting and worried about what’s wrong is what continues to drive Dr. Hanafi every day. He takes his time in discussing a diagnosis with each patient and makes sure they understand all treatment options, so together they can carry out plans toward better health.

Dr. Hanafi treats a range of conditions that affect the pancreas, liver, gallbladder, esophagus, stomach, small intestine and colon. He is passionate about helping his patients prevent diseases and cancers of the digestive system through regular screenings, including colonoscopies and endoscopies.

When he’s not working, Dr. Hanafi enjoys time with his wife and young daughter. As a family, they like to travel, try new foods and restaurants, and watch sports. Dr. Hanafi is an avid fan of the Oklahoma City Thunder basketball team, Arsenal Football Club and the Pakistan national cricket team.
