Expanded Services
As a regional healthcare leader, Bayhealth is delivering on its commitment to expand specialty care services to central and southern Delaware residents. Certified Nurse Midwife Holly Walton, CNM, is the newest addition to the Bayhealth Women’s Care, Sussex Campus team. She joins Obstetrician-Gynecologists Miaohou Xu, MD; Melisa Edler, MD; Roni Dermo, MD; and Reiesha Graham, MD, PhD, FACOG; and fellow midwife Theresa Piper, CNM, in the practice. Walton is currently taking new patients.
“We’re proud to bring another experienced women’s healthcare clinician on board here at Bayhealth,” said Vice President of Physician Services and Clinical Integration Lawrence Ward, MD, MPH, FACP. “As a certified nurse midwife, Holly provides personalized and thorough care for women during pregnancy and childbirth, and at all ages and stages of life. She is helping us better serve the needs of families in Sussex County.”
Walton graduated summa cum laude with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Binghamton University in Binghamton, New York. She went on to earn a master’s degree and certificate in midwifery from the Midwifery Institute of Jefferson University in Philadelphia.
In the early part of her career as a registered nurse, Walton gained extensive experience caring for delivering women and their newborns in the hospital setting, including the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. She then worked as a midwife in a busy private practice, where she applied her skills in contraceptive care, all aspects of pregnancy care and deliveries, as well as co-management of high-risk patients.
Walton is a member of the American College of Certified Nurse Midwives. She offers the full scope of obstetrics and gynecological care for females from adolescence through menopause.
Walton sees patients at Bayhealth Women’s Care, Sussex Campus, located at 101 Wellness Way, Suite 300 in Milford. To make an appointment call 302-424-6511. Visit Bayhealth.org/Medical-Group to learn more about the practice.
