About
Patrick Casey is a licensed professional counselor of mental health. He takes appointments for only current patients of the Bayhealth Family Medicine, Dover practice.
Patrick was influenced by the many mentors he had as a child. His experiences and respect for the positive adults that he came in contact with as a youth inspired him to become a professional counselor.
Having worked in a wide variety of settings, he has witnessed how working collaboratively with a team is instrumental in improving outcomes for patients entrusted to his care. He enjoys working in a setting with diverse medical professionals who share his enthusiasm in working together to help their patient community.
“I am a strong advocate for person centered care. This requires genuinely engaging in active listening with compassion when supporting my patients,” says Patrick. He strives to make his patients feel understood. He encourages his patients to practice self-care, focusing on integrative health of the whole patient; mind, body, heart and soul and how they function as a system, not as individual parts.
Patrick lives in Dover and frequently encounters patients out in the community. He finds it very fulfilling to speak with them and see them uplifted. His hobbies and interests revolve around his own physical and emotional health. He enjoys being active by exercising and gardening. Spending time with his family and friends and meeting new people are important to him. He considers himself a lifelong learner and focuses on continued personal development.
