Bayhealth’s Go Pink! Campaign Contributes Over $50,000 to the Local Fight Against Breast Cancer
The Bayhealth Cancer Institute’s 2024 Go Pink! T-shirt campaign raised an impressive $56,712 in partnership with Premier Sponsor Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition (DBCC) to support the fight against breast cancer in our local communities.
The funds raised are being used by both partners to increase awareness of the disease and of the importance of early detection, as well as to provide life-saving screenings for the underserved members of our communities.
"Thanks to the generosity of our community and partnership with the DBCC, our Go Pink! campaign has allowed us to provide access to cancer screenings to our community members who otherwise wouldn’t have had it, and there have been some incredible catches over the years,” said Executive Director, Bayhealth Cancer Institute and Senior Director of Operations, Oncology Service Line John Shevock, FACHE, FACMPE. “We are grateful for our partnership with the DBCC as we both continue the pursuit of beating this deadly disease.”
Bayhealth’s oncologists and other cancer care team members regularly partner with the DBCC to connect community members and breast cancer patients with invaluable resources that support them through all stages of breast cancer awareness, prevention and treatment if needed.
"The Go Pink! partnership with Bayhealth is truly life-changing, allowing the DBCC to create a closed loop of support for our most vulnerable communities—from initial screening to long-term survivorship. We're embedding ourselves within these communities, coordinating appointments, offering translation services, and arranging transportation to close gaps and ensure access to mammograms for those who need them most,” said CEO of DBCC Francesca Vogel. “At DBCC, it's not just awareness; it's saving lives and providing critical resources, offering hope and support to Delawareans facing a breast cancer diagnosis, and partnering with Bayhealth for Go Pink! is one of the many ways we do this."
