About
Dimitrios Moustakas, DPM, is a doctor of podiatric medicine specially trained to diagnose and treat disorders and injuries of the foot, ankle, and lower extremities.
Growing up in a very rural area of New York state with many blue-collar workers and farmers, including his grandfather, Dr. Moustakas observed the daily, physical suffering many of them endured with little time off to rest. As a student athlete, he also had many sports injuries of his lower extremities. These experiences inspired him to go into the podiatry field with the goal of keeping people moving.
Dr. Moustakas offers the full spectrum of podiatric care that includes surgical and non-surgical treatments for many different kinds of foot, ankle and leg conditions. He specializes in wound care and limb salvage, as well as sports medicine. Among the surgeries he performs are advanced limb salvage techniques and minimally invasive surgeries on the lower extremities.
What Dr. Moustakas finds most rewarding about being a physician is helping people in their time of need and providing a better quality of life through the care he offers. It may involve treating a foot or ankle condition that is limiting a patient’s mobility, helping foot and leg wounds heal more effectively, or doing all he can to salvage someone’s limb. A firm believer in active rehabilitation, Dr. Moustakas provides individualized care to each patient to get them back to doing what they need to do and what they enjoy.
When he’s not working, Dr. Moustakas enjoys spending time outdoors with his wife and four boys.
