About
Growing up, Dr. Chua was always fascinated by the workings of the human body and medical sciences. After her internal medicine internship and residency, she chose to specialize in hematology and oncology because the field is at the forefront of medicine with new discoveries and breakthroughs in treatments.
Dr. Chua finds deep fulfillment in caring for patients who are a part of her close-knit community. It’s one of the reasons she was drawn to Bayhealth and the smaller town life in central Delaware after completing her fellowship training at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore, Maryland. She’s also proud of the access to cutting-edge technology that Bayhealth Cancer Center provides to residents, locally and as a member of the Penn Cancer Network, to strengthen the fight against cancer.
As a hematologist, Dr. Chua diagnoses, treats and manages various diseases of the blood and its components. As a medical oncologist, she cares for patients who have been diagnosed with cancer and manages treatment throughout the course of the disease, providing targeted methods such as chemotherapy to destroy cancer cells.
Outside of work, Dr. Chua enjoys spending time with family and friends, going to the fitness center and playing tennis.
