About
Lauren Parmer, DO, is a family medicine physician who provides primary care for patients of all ages.
Since kindergarten, Dr. Parmer wanted to be a doctor. Her interest in helping people and a fascination for science and how things worked steered her on this path.
She attended West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine where she developed skills in treating the whole person, rather than someone’s individual symptoms or ailments. Her training confirmed her passion for family medicine, and she went on to complete an internship and residency in this specialty at St. Luke’s Warren Hospital in Phillipsburg, New Jersey.
Dr. Parmer worked as a family medicine physician in Pasadena, Maryland for numerous years prior to joining Bayhealth. She is skilled in performing osteopathic manipulative treatment (OMT) and has a clinical interest in women’s health.
She considers herself to be a partner with patients in achieving better health. She loves caring for whole families—from great-grandparents to little ones. She takes pride in learning about each individual patient, sharing her knowledge about medical options and discussing pros and cons, and working with patients and families to figure out treatment plans tailored to their unique circumstances and lifestyles.
When she’s not working, Dr. Parmer enjoys spending time with her family, including her young daughter. She likes travelling, shopping, and outdoor activities such as going to the beach and walking in the state parks.
