About
Always wanting to help people, he and his brother both aspired to become doctors. During his medical schooling, Dr. Lourdusamy discovered a love for the gastroenterology specialty. He liked being able to perform procedures and offer treatments that change people’s lives for the better, and sometimes have an immediate positive impact.
Dr. Lourdusamy completed fellowship training in gastroenterology and hepatology—the study of the liver, gallbladder, bile ducts, and pancreas—as well as liver cancer. He’s also done extensive research in these fields at the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio, and in his residency in Tampa, Florida, prior to his continued medical training in New York City.
Truly listening to what patients say is what Dr. Lourdusamy considers the most important aspect of patient care. He strives to put himself in each person’s shoes in order to offer empathetic care and medical recommendations that give them the best outcomes and the most satisfying patient experiences.
Dr. Lourdusamy performs procedures such as endoscopy and colonoscopy which use a thin flexible tube to examine the digestive system to make diagnoses. He offers treatment options that address various diseases and disorders of these body parts. The most fulfilling part of his work is bringing relief, improved health, and a better quality of life to his patients.
In his spare time, Dr. Lourdusamy enjoys sports and traveling. He likes to play tennis and is learning to play the guitar.
