Weather-Related Changes at Bayhealth

We hope our communities across central and southern Delaware are staying safe and warm during the first snowstorm of the new year. Below are our latest closures and other changes to services for Tuesday, Jan. 7. This message will be updated by 6:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 7 should changes need to be made to keep our patients, clinicians and team members safe.

  • All Bayhealth Medical Group practices and Bayhealth specialty practices will open at 10 a.m. on Jan. 7 except for Bayhealth Primary Care, Harrington and Bayhealth Primary Care, Milton which will open at noon.
  • Bayhealth Outpatient Services not within the main hospitals (located offsite) including Imaging, Lab, Outpatient Therapies, etc. will open at 10 a.m. on Jan. 7.
  • Bayhealth Outpatient Services at Bayhealth Hospital Kent and Sussex Campuses will open at normal hours – this includes Imaging, Lab, Outpatient Therapies, and Oncology.
  • Bayhealth Wound Care will open at 10 a.m. on Jan. 7.
  • Bayhealth Occupational Health, Blue Hen and Milford will open at 10 a.m. on Jan. 7.
  • Bayhealth Walk-In, Blue Hen and Milford will open at 10 a.m. on Jan. 7.

Team members across Bayhealth are notifying patients of these late openings and may offer alternatives to in-person appointments such as telehealth and rescheduling appointments.

Our hospitals and emergency departments will remain open to care for patients. This includes our Bayhealth Hospital, Kent Campus; Bayhealth Hospital, Sussex Campus; Bayhealth Emergency and Urgent Care Center, Total Care; and Bayhealth Smyrna Emergency Department.

Additionally, patients scheduled for elective surgeries on Jan. 7 at Bayhealth Hospital, Kent and Sussex Campuses should arrive as scheduled. If a patient has questions about their scheduled surgery or prefers to reschedule, please call 302-744-7093 (Kent) or 302-430-5746 (Sussex).

Bayhealth also offers a virtual urgent care option called Bayhealth@Home. The mobile app may be used from any location. Visit Bayhealth.org/VUC to learn more.
