Bayhealth Foundation Hosts End of Year Reception for Donors on Planned Giving and Estate Planning

Bayhealth Foundation recently hosted an informative reception for donors and friends, at Bonz Restaurant & Lounge in Harrington, to share more about planned giving and other estate planning options. The reception provided valuable insights into how donors can make a lasting impact while also achieving their personal financial and philanthropic goals.

Longtime Bayhealth donor and Merrill Lynch Financial Advisor Scott Connell led the presentation, sharing expertise and personal experiences in planned giving. Connell, who currently serves on the Bayhealth Cancer Institute Board of Directors, and his wife Kim, a dedicated member of the Bayhealth Foundation Women’s Leadership Council, have been steadfast advocates for the foundation’s mission. Their generosity has played a significant role in advancing Bayhealth’s mission over the years.

“Planned giving is an incredible opportunity to support the causes that matter most to us while also ensuring financial security for our families,” said Connell. “It was an honor to share information and strategies that can help donors make informed decisions about their legacy.”

The presentation covered various planned giving options, including charitable gift annuities, bequests, and donor-advised funds, highlighting how each approach can benefit both donors and the foundation’s long-term initiatives. Attendees were encouraged to consider how estate planning can align with their philanthropic values, creating a meaningful impact for generations to come.

“We are grateful to Scott and Kim for their long-lasting commitment and leadership,” said Bayhealth Foundation President Lindsay Rhodenbaugh, DMin. “This event was a wonderful opportunity to engage with our donors and provide them with the resources they need to make informed giving decisions that reflect their personal values and goals.”
