About
Hollis "Kendall" Barton, MD, is a family medicine physician who provides primary care to patients of all ages.
Dr. Barton is originally from Georgia. Early on in his life, having loved ones with very serious medical issues exposed him to the healthcare environment and was the spark that lit his interest in medicine. He studied biomedical engineering in his undergraduate years then went on to medical school. Family medicine was the right specialty for him because it allowed him to form strong relationships with patients and practice a broad scope of medicine in his career.
Being in Bayhealth’s inaugural class of family medicine residents was what he described as a once in a lifetime opportunity and exciting challenge. During residency he fell in love with Delaware and our community and was thrilled to accept a family medicine physician role to continue caring for Bayhealth patients.
Dr. Barton strives to bring the same philosophy to every patient encounter—that he is there for them and their medical needs. He strikes a balance between recommending treatments and medications based on the latest medical research and finding what plan best suits the patient and their lifestyle. Working with patients through each step of their healthcare journey and celebrating in their victories is what fulfills him most as a physician.
From diabetes management to mental health, full spectrum care that covers the body from head to toe is what Dr. Barton provides. Having spent some extra time in dermatology and sports medicine during his medical training, he also offers those services as well.
When he’s not working, he loves spending time with his dog, being out on the golf course, building LEGO sets, and cooking. He also enjoys the fall season and watching football, and he has recently gotten involved with the boxing community in Delaware and working at their events.
